Hey y'all!

So I just posted the last two stories, though I had to post one of them in two parts because LJ shouted in pink boxes at me that the post was too long.  Story of this ficathon's life.  From there, I can only say that I have never read so many fantastic stories in one sitting, because I'm shameless and cheated!

Special Thanks to:

penknife  for allowing me this opportunity to Mod.
danglingdingle for her unfailing ability to make me feel better
mamazano for stepping up to the plate at the last second and writing two pinch hits
sammistar for also stepping up to a pinch hit fantastically
bonnyblondelass</span> for the constant check ins and reminders (did you delete your journal?)
rayn_firehawk  for the betaing, the support and the late night phone calls
greenisbeauty for the reminder tonight

and everyone else who participated in the story giving.  You guys were fantastic.

In a few days, I'll amass a Master Post of all our stories so they'll be easy to find.  See you next Christmas!

That's a wrap!

'Drea, your modly psychopath.

Title: The Perfect Present
Author: Lizzylove4ever
Rating: T or R Implied Sexual Content
Pairing: J/E
Warning: I don’t own any of this. Disney does
Notes: Just a cute fluff story
Summary: Jack comes to a summoned meeting at Shipwrecks cove on Christmas eve. What is the meeting about? Will feelings still linger between Captain Sparrow and the Pirate king?

*

Jack almost slipped off the plank when leaving the Black Pearl. Everything was covered with a thin layer of snow. It was very strange that Shipwreck cove was so cold this year. Must be Calypso wishing them a nice holiday.Collapse )

Title: "A Delicate Predicament" (Part One)
Author: luvvycat
Rating: PG13/Soft R
Pairing: Jack/Elizabeth, implied Anamaria/Cotton
Warning: Some suggestiveness, but no real smut
Notes: Set Post-AWE; previous canonical events intact. This story is a stand-alone, and is not related to my "Rum and Persuasion" story cycle. Please note: I had a hard time determining what accent Anamaria uses (if any!) in CotBP, despite replaying her scenes multiple times. Sadly, she has so few lines! Some of her words in the recruitment scene do sound clipped, and in the scene where Gibbs et al are following the Code and leaving Jack behind, it does sound like she says "Hoist de sails!" For the sake of this story, I opted to give her a slight Islands/Jamaican accent (though not as pronounced as Tia Dalma's, and with much better use of English.) I hope this is acceptable!
Beta: The charming and delightful geekmama, with my most sincere gratitude! She indeed was very thorough, and this story has been much improved due to her input! Any residual flaws or errors are entirely my own, and in no way reflect on the excellence of her beta skills!
Summary: Six weeks after saying their final good-byes on the Black Pearl, Elizabeth and Jack meet again in Tortuga…

Part Two Here.

He had never expected to see her again, once they said their final good-byes on the Pearl (had it only been six weeks ago?). She had gone off to consummate her marriage to her new (and now—largely thanks to Jack—immortal) husband, and Jack had hightailed it to Tortuga, to drown his sorrows the only way he knew how: with massive quantities of rum, and an abundance of warm female flesh…Collapse )

Title: Alone Together
Author:greenisbeauty
Rating: PG-13
Notes: None of these characters belong to me. So props to Disney!
Pairing: Jack/Elizabeth
Option: #1- Pre-AWE fluff
Summary: Another missing scene from the island. A sort of continuation, if you please. :)

For lizzylove4ever

It had been no more than an hour since they collapsed together onto the sand, two empty bottles of rum scattered beside them. Elizabeth had fallen asleep only briefly, lying beneath the stars, her head resting upon Jack’s chest, his steady heart providing her with more warmth and solace than the rum.Collapse )

Title: Port In A Storm
Author: Jess (sequence_fairy )
Rating: PG
Pairing: Jack and Elizabeth and Will (Friendship!)
Summary: The weather outside is frightful, but the friendship inside is delightful.
Notes: This is for luvvycat , and is just a bit of Christmas fluff.

The wind drags at his coat, trying to wrest his hat from the grip he has on it with a gloved hand. The other hand holds the collar of his coat turned up against the weather.Collapse )

Title: Sweet Dreams are Made of These
Author: ‘Drea (placeofinsanity)
Rating: NC-17, Not Work Safe.  No way.
Pairing: Jack/Will, Jack/Will/Norrington
Warnings: Some kink.  Mostly mild.
Notes: Thanks to danglingdingle for the beta, the brainstorm and the title is from The Eurythecmics.
Summary: Jack proposes a very interesting idea to Will.  Will’s mouth says no, but his dreams? A resounding ‘oh dear god, yes please.’
Notes II: This is set somewhere in the POTC world after CotBP, and DMC only Jack never got swallowed by the Kraken - though most of that is not important. Enjoy!

For stripped_halo.

Jack, it seemed, was up to something. In itself, Jack being up to something was either a very good thing for Will, or a spectacularly bad thing for Will. The catch was finding out which it would be first so running away was still an option.Collapse )

 Hey y'all,

so I'm bringing posting into this week because I am super busy, New Years Eve was too crazy to sit down and do anything other than cook, clean and be nuts.  However, it was a fantastic night because 2010 came in with the most amazing moment of my short 22 years, and I hope that it means that 2010 will not suck like 2009 did.

So, posting to commence tonight and throughout the rest of the week.

Your mod,
'Drea

 Hey y'all!

I have five more stories to post tomorrow all of which will somehow happen within the alloted time frame.  I have a very busy day ahead of me, but, I will do my best.  I may post one or two on the 1st, but that's still the holidays so I'm counting it as on time.  LJ seems to have cleared up its wall-of-text failure though I'm sticking to my guns and avoiding any LJ user name links in the post - just in case.

However, my post is not about my failure to post on time.  It's actually an idea I had.  This year we had 23 different people sign up for our ficathon.  We amassed that many stories, plus a few because I'm nice :D.  To that end, I was thinking, why not do something like this a few times a year? Clearly they'd be shorter requests, and the word count would be slightly less than 1000 - though I think about two of you were even close to that number, myself included.

I'd probably have to make a new community, as this is penknife's brain child, and I might model it after rounds_of_kink, with permission from Andrea and Mickey.  (Different Andrea, clearly.)

We could change up challenges, such as drabble challenges, or word based ones, just to keep the story flow going.  As always, any pairing, any kink, warning or idea would be welcome.

Is anyone else amenable to this? I'd make the community, and if enough people are interested, I might need some help maintaining it.  One or two people who would be on top of the job would be great.

'Drea

(PS. 'Scuse my drunkenness.  Too much rum and pineapple juice.  I think I caught most of my own typos.  Laugh at me as you will.)
That is...if people are interested in an ongoing any-thing-goes Pirates ficathon community?

Title: For the Love of a Lady
Author: Bonnyblondelass
Pairing: Barbossa/Elizabeth
Rating: PG-13
Beta: RF (my late night beta goddess!)
Summary: Elizabeth's son always looks forwards to Captain Barbossa's visits and the grisly tales of the sea that he shares. Elizbeth must admit, however, that she might have her own reasons for welcoming the pirate into her home.
Warnings/Notes: The story that Barbossa shares is based on a 'true' story of an English ghost ship, so I'll only take the credit for incorporating it into my tale rather than the actual creation. No warnings apart from mild adult themes and a bit of angst.

She knew she should spend the evening catching up on the rooming house accounts, but it would be pointless to try. Elizabeth closed her ledger’s heavy cover and returned the quill to the ink pot. Although yarns of pirates and mythical adventures were nothing new to her, it was impossible to ignore the lilting, lyrical voice of Captain Hector Barbossa once he warmed to the telling of one of his fantastic tales.Collapse )
